Believing Gemma’s lie that a member of Henry Lin’s gang had killed Tara, Jax exacted a torturous revenge on the man he believed to be responsible. As the final season of the show started off, we were given a look at the direction Jax was planning to take the club, and it wasn’t pretty. Jax Chooses Vengeance “Black Widower” (Season 7, Episode 1). Not to mention that Gemma’s cover up for her actions and Jax’s subsequent vengeance on the people he thought responsible ended up being the undoing for both Jax and his mother in the end. The fact that Tara and Jax had actually come to an agreement and that Tara was about to escape Charming with her boys only made the situation more tragic. The Sons ride customized Harley-Davidson Dynas.Mistakenly believing that Tara was going to turn on Jax and the club, Gemma took matters into her own hands, killing her with a carving fork after a vicious fight. Other smaller patches on the vest stand for different things, examples being "Men of Mayhem" which is worn by club members who have spilled blood on the club's behalf, and "First 9", worn by the original nine members of SOA.

The Sons of Anarchy's patch on the back of their vests is a Grim Reaper wielding an M-16 with a bloody scythe blade and holding a crystal ball with the anarchy "A". SOA Club members wear vests known as "cuts" (jacket with the sleeves cut off).

The Sons' mottos are " Fear the Reaper" and " Ride Free or Die", and their colors are blue and black. The Sons of Anarchy also have a number of allies, in the form of the True IRA, which supplies them with illegal Russian-made guns, and the One-Niners, an African American street gang to which SAMCRO sells weapons, they also have various affiliates in the state prison system. They also have to deal with a rival Oakland-based motorcycle club, The Mayans, who control the neighboring territory of Nevada, and The League of American Nationalists, another criminal racist organization. The fact that the Sons of Anarchy are racially diverse also puts them at odds. Naturally, their main enemy is the White supremacist Nordics gang who specialize in the meth trade. They also protect Charming from outside gangs who try to manufacture and sell drugs, mainly methamphetamine, there. The chapter's President is Clay Morrow and his Vice-President is Jax Teller.Ĭlub members (The Sons) have "day jobs" in local industries, most of them working at the Teller-Morrow garage, but their primary business is importing illegal weapons and selling them to drug gangs in the East Bay, along with protection runs for local businesses by protecting valuable truck shipments from hijacking. The Redwood chapter is headquartered in Charming, California, in a clubhouse adjacent to the Teller-Morrow auto mechanic shop. The original and founding chapter, Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original, referred to by the acronym SAMCRO or Sam Crow.
Six of the original nine members were war veterans. The club was formed by John Teller and Piermont "Piney" Winston, two Vietnam War veterans, in 1967 in Charming, California. There are also a number of chapters in England, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands and Scandinavia. In the United States, these are located in Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, New England, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, and Alberta and Manitoba in Canada.
